Long established as one of Edinburgh’s most popular
live Scottish folk music venues, the Royal Oak is in Infirmary
Street, close to the Museums of Scotland and Edinburgh University
Old College. It is also the starting point for the “Body
Politic” and "Hidden Edinburgh" tours. (Rebus has been
known to enjoy a pint or two here). Open every day, and during
the Festival the Royal Oak stays open until 4.00am. Come and
enjoy a drink and hear some quality music and singing.
Ian Rankin’s official site which contains much useful information
about the author, the books and also forthcoming events where you
may be lucky enough to meet Ian at a book signing.
Rebus’ favourite pub has its own website!
This is an amusing look at the pub made famous by real (and fictitious)
characters
over the years. Maybe you will meet the real John Gates
and Dr Curt inside...
By far the biggest and best on-line
guide to travel within Scotland – far better than the official
tourist board sites! A wealth of information for you to help plan
your visit to Scotland and packed with informative features on
where to go and what to see. Truly outstanding.
